Philippe Coutinho admits he was not 100% to play against Stoke on Saturday but he was ready to play through pain to help Liverpool qualify for Champions League.

Coutinho reveals he was told to stay at home but such was the desire to help Liverpool he wanted to travel with the squad and play.

"I joined up in the morning [of the game]. They asked me to stay at home because I was not feeling well but I wanted to be here. I wanted to be involved with the team. The manager decided because I was not 100 per cent,” Coutinho said.

“I want to keep going to keep scoring and helping my team and keep learning from my manager. This was a big win. There are a lot of points to fight for and every game for us is important.”

Liverpool took a huge step of securing top four finish after a dramatic win at Stoke yesterday.
