Just what would happen if Barcelona and Real Madrid competed in the Premier League?

Hypothetically, you would expect both sides to remain incredibly successful, even if it took them a while to adapt to one of the trickiest leagues in the world. Whether it's a famed trip to Stoke or visiting the defensively astute Burnley, matches are very seldom easy in the Premier League.

FC Barcelona v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

And, putting this thesis to the test, one Youtube star decided to find out what would happen if both Barcelona and Real Madrid ever made the transition to the Premier League through a FIFA simulation.

Surprisingly neither side wins the competition during the first season, with Barcelona missing out to Manchester United by goal difference. Real Madrid finished a laughable seventh but fared better the following campaign, claiming the runners-up spot behind Tottenham as their Catalan rivals somehow finish 11th, coupled with an FA Cup success.

Barcelona continue to make their mark on English football by winning the Premier League in the third and final season of the experiment, as Real paid for selling Toni Kroos to Chelsea with a fourth place finish.

We know players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale and Luka Modric can cut it in the Premier League but perhaps the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Sergio Busquets would find England's top division a little harder, given their sporadic results in this experiment.
