Nuri Sahin has leapt to the defence of his Dortmund teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after the striker endured a frustrating night against Hamburg.
Aubameyang wasted a number of chances in the match's early stages, which saw Dortmund struggle to kill the game off on Tuesday night.
Thomas Tuchel's men went ahead in the 13th minute, through Gonzalo Castro, yet, Dortmund's poor finishing allowed Hamburg the opportunity to gain a foothold in the game.
Luckily, Die Borussen's poor finishing did not come back to haunt them, as two late goals from Shinji Kagawa and Aubameyang saw Dortmund grab all three points.
Despite his goal in additional time, it still proved to be a frustrating night for Aubameyang, who on another occasion could have bagged a hat-trick.
After the game, Sahin told the official club website, "Concerning Auba, (Aubameyang), even the best sometimes miss chances – and Auba definitely ranks alongside the best."
Given, the Gabon striker's goal ratio this year, it is hard to argue with Sahin's claims.
Aubameyang, has netted 25 goals in as many Bundesliga games this season, including eight in his last six league appearances.
Impressively, the 27-year-old has continued this rich scoring form into the Champions League, where he has matched his Bundesliga ratio of a goal per game during his seven matches in Europe's elite club competition.
Aubameyang's phenomenal season has seen much speculation linking him with a move away from Westfalenstadion this summer, with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United all being touted as potential suitors.
