Inter Milan are confident they will land AS Roma's defender Kostas Manolas this summer for a fee of €43m, according to reports from Telelombardia - via Football Italia.
The Greece international was sensational at the back for the Giallorossi last season, however, he has experienced a decline in performances this campaign.
With the defender's contract expiring in June 2019, it is expected that he will leave in the summer for northern rivals Inter Milan. His intentions to leave the Italian capital have been clear for quite some time.
The 25-year-old's performances have struck the eyes of Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea, but reports now claim that Internazionale are prepared to lure in the Greek at the San Siro.
Telelombardia news announced that the Nerazzurri will pay €43m plus bonuses for the player and this has certainly put a dent in Arsenal's and Chelsea's hope of signing the centre-back.
The deal is predicted to be finalised by June 30, and until then Roma can start using the profit to bring in new faces under the next Director of Sport called Monchi. Inter will hope to use Manolas as a defensive reinforcement for next season as the club will be looking to fight for the Scudetto.
The Milanese side's new owners, the Suning Group, do have the cash to bring in football's most expensive talent.
Roma will hope their star defender can finish off the rollercoaster season on a high note as the club still have slight hopes of staying alive in the Serie A title race.
