Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey appears to have landed himself in the middle of a social media storm after he liked a comment on Instagram that appears to criticise Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere is currently approaching the end of a season-long loan with Bournemouth and though his stats don't make for particularly good reading, he has at least proved to his parent club that he is capable of staying fit.

The England international has long been blighted by injuries in previous seasons and has often been ridiculed by fans for his inability to stay fit for any given period of time.

Despite proving his fitness this season with Bournemouth, Wilshere continues to be mocked for his poor injury record and though Arsenal supporters themselves have often vented their frustration at his lack of development in recent years, it seems some of his Arsenal teammates share similar feelings.

According to Give Me Sport, Aaron Ramsey, who has shared a dressing room with Wilshere for several years now, has liked a comment made on Instagram that responded to the initial post: "Jack Wilshere at Bournemouth is proof that class is permanent" by saying: "I'd rather he stayed fit."

Though subtle, Ramsey must have been all-too aware that the comment was a dig at his teammate's poor fitness record.

The Welshman may have strong views on social media, but his performances on the pitch this season have been average at best. Ramsey has just two goals two his name this season and has also spent time out of the first-team due to a number of injuries.

How ironic.
