It's a well known fact that Cristiano Ronaldo wears his heart on his sleeve. He doesn't mind showing emotion when he's invested in the game that he loves.

But when he was a child, his emotions often got the better of him, as his childhood friend, Ricardo Santos, has revealed.

Santos played alongside Ronaldo when the two were eight-years-olds in the amateur side FC Andorinha in their home town of Madeira. Little did he know at the time, that Ronaldo would go on to become a four time Ballon d'Or winner.

But Santos said that even then you could see the Real Madrid superstar was talented. Santos said that Ronaldo often "made the difference" for the side in close games.

But it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the future legend. His friend revealed that he used to cry when he lost and when players didn't pass, which prompted a nickname for Ronaldo back in the day.

Despite this obvious adversity, 'crybaby' has turned out alright, with a mere four Ballon d'Or wins, over 500 career goals, four league titles, three Champions Leagues, one European Championship and a whole host of individual records and accolades.
