AFC Bournemouth have been charged for violating anti-doping rules by the English Football Association.

The FA's official website reports as much, stating that the club did not ensure that their 'club whereabouts' information was inaccurate, and in failing to do so have contravened Regulation 14(d).

A statement reads: "AFC Bournemouth have been charged in relation to The FA’s Rules on Anti-Doping.

"It is alleged the club failed to ensure that their ‘Club Whereabouts’ information was accurate, contrary to Regulation 14(d).

"Bournemouth have until 23 February 2017 to respond to the charge."

Manchester City were charged for the same offence last month, and on Thursday were fined £35,000 having accepted the FA's charge.
