Arsenal suffered a gruelling 5-1 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. The same result they suffered little over a year ago, in the group stages of the same competition.

The Gunners have been knocked out at the Last 16 stage of the Champions League for the last six seasons on the trot, and it looks no different this time around as they have a four goal deficit to peg back when the two sides meet again at the Emirates in a couple of weeks.

After taking a near-unassailable lead into the Champions League last 16 second leg, the German side's were (understandably) feeling a little cocky on Twitter.

The German champions added insult to injury by writing: "Same again next year?  #UCL #FCBARS 5-1"

The brutal Tweet has since earned over 15k retweets and 14k likes, proving not only that people are enjoying Arsenal's misery but that Germans can be funny!

As ever with Arsenal capitulations, Twitter erupted with some supporters calling for manager Arsene Wenger's head for the third or fourth time since the start of the season.
