All signs point towards a family reunion in Los Angeles, and it would be one that would transform the Galaxy into an automatic contender in the Western Conference.

According to multiple reports, the Galaxy are interested in signing Villarreal midfielder Jonathan dos Santos, brother of current L.A. star Gio dos Santos.

The franchise has two designated player spots open, and apparently they see the central midfielder as the ideal candidate to fill one of them.

The 26-year-old playmaker is enjoying one of his best years playing for Villarreal in Spain, but it has been reported that he'd consider a transfer to MLS to play with his brother.

The Galaxy are keen to sign at least one high-profile player after Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard departed at the end of last season.

Both Jonathan and Gio dos Santos started their careers at FC Barcelona. Both have played for the Mexican National Team.

It remains to be seen whether the Galaxy can capture the coveted playmaker, but there would be multiple benefits.

Not only will he be able help the team on the field, but he would also be a massive signing marketing-wise, as LA needs to remain a force with merchandising before their expansion rivals LAFC begin play in 2018.
