After it was reported that Bastian Schweinsteiger wanted to play in MLS at some point in his career, it was only a matter of time before a franchise expressed an interest in signing him.

It turns out FC Dallas is keen to land the former Bayern Munich and Germany star. Dallas' chairman Dan Hunt said in an interview with SPOX.com that he's a huge fan of the playmaker.

Hunt stated that, "He is an incredible player. I always admired him and the success that his teams had. That is no coincidence - he is a winner. At the moment we only have space for one designated player and we wanted to fill this with a striker. Maybe it will change, we will see."

The chances of signing Schweinsteiger now are pretty slim, however, as the former Germany skipper recently said he wasn't going to sign with an MLS franchise because the transfer window there is already closed. But who knows, maybe he changes his mind considering he's yet to play this season.

FC Dallas is on his way to win the Supporters' Shield trophy and they have two of the best midfielders in the league in Carlos Gruezo potential MVP-candidate Mauro Díaz. Adding someone like Schweinsteiger would be a huge step towards improving the team ahead of the 2017 season.

FC Dallas fans are pretty excited with the possibility, but MLS fans all over the globe should be eager for this to happen, too. The arrival of one of the best European players in the last 10 years would make an immediate impact in the league.
