Week 27 in MLS didn't have a lot of quality as past weeks, but there were still a few goals that managed to separate from the rest. From long-range shots and incredible passing sequences to spectacular finishing touches, here are the top five goals from last week in the MLS.
5. FC Dallas v. Colorado Rapids: Dominique Badji (COL, 52')
Dominique Badji isn't exactly a household name, but we are sure fans will start talking about him following his impressive display against FC Dallas this past weekend. The Senegalese striker scored a long-range effort that gave Colorado a huge win on the road, as they remain a threat to catch Dallas at the top of the Western Conference.
4. Real Salt Lake v. Los Angeles Galaxy: Joao Plata (RSL, 67')
Joao Plata is one of the most versatile attackers in MLS, and he's been playing at a very high level for Real Salt Lake this season. The Ecuadorian winger was a key player for his side in the 3-3 draw against Los Angeles Galaxy, scoring with a great shot from inside the box that left the opposing keeper helpless.
3. Columbus Crew SC v. Vancouver Whitecaps: Ola Kamara (CLB, 10')
Ola Kamara has been one of the best strikers in MLS this season. Even though the Columbus Crew haven't had a very good season, the Norwegian striker has been an absolute star up front and he leads the team in goals with 11. He scored this past weekend in spectacular fashion, capitalizing on a corner cross to finish with a bicycle kick from close range. David Ousted was unable to make the save.
2. Sporting Kansas City v. Houston Dynamo: Roger Espinoza (SKC, 26')
The 29-year-old Honduras midfielder isn't known for his offensive talent since he's better suited to play as a holding midfielder, but he's known for having a strong shot from outside the box. He evidenced that trait in the game against the Houston Dynamo, netting an incredible shot from long range in an impossible angle for the keeper.
1. New England Revolution v. New York City FC: Lee Nguyen (NE, 42')
The New England Revolution pulled a massive upset this past weekend after defeating New York City FC at home. One of their best players in that game was Lee Nguyen, who also happened to score the best goal of the week. The attacking midfielder found himself on the end of a spectacular passing sequence, and placed the ball away from the keeper's reach with a spectacular touch. It was undoubtedly the best goal of the past week.
