Earlier in the summer it was reported that both Man Utd and Juventus were front-runners for Matic, but with United signing Pogba, Juventus remain the best suited club to launch a bid.

The Daily Mail report that Juventus have been in direct contact with Matic, offering him an attractive contract.

Initially the ex-Benfica midfielder wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge, however Juventus' offer has tempted him to move to Turin.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has given newly-appointed boss Antonio Conte his support, understanding Conte's reluctancy to sell Matic.

Conte has stamped down his authority at Stamford Bridge this week, putting players on double training sessions as well as banning the likes of fizzy drinks and tomato ketchup in the club canteen.

The Daily Mail also report that Chelsea's summer spending is far from over, with priority on a new striker and new central defender.

Everton's Romelu Lukaku remains a prominent target for Conte's side, with Loic Remy and Asmir Begovic being offered, as well as cash, for the Belgium international.

Kalidou Koulibaly is another player that could well be seen in a Chelsea shirt by the end of the window, with Chelsea hoping to have a breakthrough by Monday or Tuesday.
