Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he hopes to sign both Leroy Sane from Schalke and John Stones from Everton, with reports claiming the City will pay £92m for the pair.

Guardiola spoke to reporters on Thursday following Manchester City's penalty shoot-out victory over Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup in China.

The ex-Bayern Munich manager said that he would be 'very happy' if Sane completes a move to City, which would be worth around £42m according to reports.

Sane, 20, is a highly-rated forward with the ability to play on the wing, as well as in an advanced midfield role.

"Sane is a player from Schalke. If he comes, we'll be happy. If he stays, I'll be happy for the Schalke fans," Guardiola told a media conference.

John Stones on the other hand, who turned 22 in May, has been tipped to join City for a staggering £50m fee, but it is up to Everton to find a replacement before a transfer goes ahead.

"[In Stones' case,] it's the same answer for Sane - he's a player for Everton. Everyone knows we're going to try but we will see." Guardiola added.

Everton could be edging nearer to a replacement for Stones after reports emerged claiming the Toffees have bid £14m for Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone.

Where as Leroy Sane's potential switch could happen imminently, with the player handing in a transfer request at the end of last month amidst Manchester City's interest.

But it is the valuation of the player that has proved to be a stumbling block for City, with Schalke standing firm on their initial £45m asking price.
