AC Milan head into the new season under manager Vincenzo Montella and this fresh start has got a few of the Rossoneri men excited to get going already.

First, Giacomo Bonaventura explained to Gazzetta World that the former Fiorentina boss' tactical changes will have a positive effect on the team, "We have to have command the game and maintain concentration. When the coach explained his approach to the team I knew it was interesting: it has changed a lot and it is our added value. Now I understand why his teams played well.

"I have not played in Europe and I would love to do it. A renewal does seem like it’s an issue for the club to discuss, then I will listen what they have to tell me. I do not know what will happen but I’m fine here."

Bonaventura's partner in midfield, Andrea Bertolacci, is also desperate to get going, after failing to impress during his first season at the San Siro, as he explained to Goal.com, "I don't want to make excuses. I must learn from the past experiences, both positive and negative, and start again with the will to train hard.

"In past seasons I have always scored four to six goals. Scoring only one, last season, was a real disappointment for the team and for myself. This year I want a fresh start and I am sure that with dedication and grit the goals will come. In the end, we will see the results on the pitch.

"I hope that coach [Vincenzo] Montella's style of play can help me a lot, it could be a very important opportunity. Everybody will try and follow the coach's ideas because he can really bring out our qualities. No more words, let's put our efforts on the pitch."

Both players will be available for Milan's friendly match with Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup at the Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago.
