MLS Week 20 was filled with spectacular goals and individual performances, but there were a few players that separated themselves from the rest thanks to an incredible individual display.
Here are the top three players during the past weekend.
3. Didier Drogba - Montreal Impact
The Ivorian striker had been heavily criticized of late due to his form and overall effort, but he bounced back in a big way against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday. Drogba scored three goals and was a big reason why Montreal won 5-1 against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. His poaching ability was in full display in this game.
2. Sacha Kljestan - New York Red Bulls
Sacha Kljestan might not get the attention he deserves, but the fact that he's one of the best playmakers in the league can't be denied. The veteran midfielder had one of his best games this year on Sunday, contributing with a goal and two assists during the New York Red Bulls win against New York City FC.
1. Sebastian Giovinco - Toronto FC
Just like Drogba, Giovinco also scored three goals, but he gets a higher ranking due to the quality of his strikes. The former Juventus player and reigning MVP scored two brilliant free kicks in the first half and sealed the hat-trick with a goal in stoppage time during the second half. It was the perfect way to end his scoring drought, and was deservedly named the best player this week.
