Sebastian Giovinco and Didier Drogba are two of the best, most recognized strikers in MLS. Both, however, had been under a lot of scrutiny due to their form in recent weeks. Prior to this week, Giovinco had gone eight straight games without scoring.

Both, however, woke up in a big way this Saturday scoring a hat-trick during their clubs wins this weekend.

Giovinco, the former Juventus star, scored three goals during TFC's 4-1 win over DC United. Last year's MVP netted two incredible free kicks in the first half, and added a third goal in stoppage time during the second half.

Drogba, on the other hand, scored Montreal's first three goals during the Impact's win against the Philadelphia Union. With his hat-trick, the former Chelsea star proved he can still be productive even though he's approaching 40 years old.

Both players moved up in the Golden Boot race, but they continue to trail New York City FC's star David Villa. It was also refreshing to see them play at this level, especially because both will be part of the MLS All-Star Team that will play against Arsenal next Thursday.

The fact that both Drogba and Giovinco recovered their old form will only bring positive things for Toronto and Montreal. Both franchises need their stars at their best if they want to keep themselves alive in the playoff race.
