The French national team may not have had a productive Sunday evening in Paris at the Stade de France, but - if you're a fan of reading deeply into pictures - one Frenchman may just have advanced his summer plans a little.

Arsene Wenger was working for French television during the match, alongside Robert Pires and Marcel Desailly, and was spotted having a quiet chat with tournament top scorer Antoine Griezmann before the match.

Arsenal are expected to go full-tilt to sign a striker over the summer, with Olivier Giroud looking unable to lead the line for the Gunners by himself, and the Atletico star has been one of the names thrown around in connection with the club - with former star Ray Parlour telling Sky Sports recently "We'd love to see Antoine Griezmann at Arsenal. That's the sort of quality they need."

Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain is another who has been linked with the Gunners, with the Serie A club looking an outside bet to challenge for domestic honours thanks to Juventus' dominance in Italy, although the Argentine is expected to command a stratospheric price tag.

Alvaro Morata - recently returned to Real Madrid - has also been discussed in relation to the Gunners, but one forward who is expected to stay put is Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas telling L’Equipe recently: "I’ve met Arsene Wenger quite often during France games but he has not spoken to me about this (an offer for Lacazette).

"So I don’t think there is something in it and it seems to that Lacazette wants to play with Lyon in the new stadium. He wants a Champions League adventure that is far better than the previous one. I think he will stay with us and we are very happy."
