Real Madrid are reportedly unhappy with James Rodriguez after the player opted to go on holiday straight after his Copa America involvement instead of treating a shoulder injury.

The Colombian star's Copa America campaign ended on June 23, but he decided to take a vacation instead of seeing leading consultant Dr Mikel Aramberri, according to AS

Footage and pictures have shown James enjoying beach volleyball with his wife in recent days and Madrid are thought to be unhappy with the situation, after experiencing something similar with Kaka back in 2010, who didn't treat his knee injury immediately after the World Cup and was forced to undergo surgery when he returned to the Spanish capital, resulting him in missing months of action.

Madrid apparently have no intention of selling Rodriguez, despite conflicting reports over the past couple of weeks. He is due to return to the club on July 25, where he will sit down with manager Zinedine Zidane and discuss his future. James wants to remain at the club and has no immediate desire to leave, despite seeing his playing time in the first-team dramatically reduced in the closing months of last season.

Under Zidane, James has not fit into the system seamlessly, with the Frenchman opting to play Casemiro in the holding position, while Lucas Vazquez has emerged as the preferred back-up to the front trio, leaving James in a somewhat awkward position where is far from guaranteed starting football.

James also faced accusations of unprofessionalism after it emerged he had a growing portfolio of driving offences. He was forced to defend himself but despite that, he wants to stay. It's important he maints a good relationship with the club's hierarchy though.
