4 Must-Watch Games in MLS Week 17

Week 17 in the MLS will last longer than usual, as games will start on Friday and will end on Monday July 4th, so fans all over the globe will have the chance to spend Independence Day watching some soccer. Some of the best games are scheduled for Monday, but no game will be better than Sunday's affair between two of the most-heated, biggest rivals in the league. Without further ado, here are four MLS matches from Week 17 you simply can't miss!

4. Montreal Impact vs New England Revolution

The Montreal Impact sit fourth in the Eastern Conference, but a win could put them in second place if some other results go their way. They will have a tough match, however, as they will take on New England Revolution at home. The Revs are currently out of the playoff picture, but a win could put them back in the Top 6, while at the same time overtaking Montreal's place. It's pretty clear both teams will go the extra mile to get the three points.

3. Portland Timbers vs Colorado Rapids

The Portland Timbers are coming off an impressive comeback-win against the Houston Dynamo last week, and the win allowed them to get back into the playoff picture for the first time in a long time. They will have a tough opponent on Monday, however, as they will face the best team in the league in the Colorado Rapids. To make things even more complicated, the Rapids are expected to have Tim Howard between the posts for the first time. Will the USMNT keeper make a difference, or will the Timbers prove they are the real deal?

2. Toronto FC vs Seattle Sounders

The Seattle Sounders could have Clint Dempsey back for this game, and his presence would give them a massive boost in a must-win contest against Toronto FC. Even though Toronto won't have Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore, they still are a tough team, and they are likely to make things complicated for Seattle. Making things even more interesting is that both sides are out of the playoff picture, a shocking event since most pre-season predictions had them near the top of their respective conferences.

1. New York City FC vs New York Red Bulls

However, no game will be bigger than the latest version of the Hudson River Derby. Patrick Vieira's NYCFC will be at home for this game, and they will want to avenge the 0-7 loss suffered against NYRB earlier this season. The Red Bulls, however, aren't going to take them for granted, and they will look to extend their historical supremacy over the City. There's no doubt this is a must-watch game for this weekend!
