4 Must-Watch Games in MLS Week 16

After three midweek matches filled with emotions, the bulk of Week 16 in MLS will be played over the course of the weekend. Several games should catch the eye of the casual fan, but here we present for you the matches you absolutely cannot miss.

4. Philadelphia Union vs Vancouver Whitecaps

The Philadelphia Union is coming off a 4-3 win against Chicago Fire, led by a hat trick from Roland Alberg, and they will look to extend their lead at top of the Eastern Conference this Saturday against a tough opponent in the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Canadian franchise is currently sixth in the West and a loss could drop them out of the playoff zone, so this represents an important game for both sides.

3. Orlando City SC vs Toronto FC

Aside from the presence of Kaká and Sebastian Giovinco on the same field, this match has more than just the two highest-paid players in MLS this season. Toronto FC has gone cold over the past few weeks, but they remain fifth in the East and they are three points behind the second place New York Red Bulls. Orlando City SC is two points away from the playoff zone, and could overtake Toronto with a win at home.

2. Seattle Sounders vs New York City FC

New York City FC has stumbled a bit of late, but they are still in third place in the Eastern Conference, so they can't be taken for granted. The same can be said about the Seattle Sounders. Even though they won't have Clint Dempsey, they are still a tough team based on their experience, and they need to start winning if they want to maintain their spot in the playoff race for the foreseeable future. It's a must-win game for both sides.

1. San Jose Earthquakes vs Los Angeles Galaxy

However, no game will be bigger than the California Clasico between Los Angeles Galaxy and the San Jose Earthquakes. Even though the Galaxy won't have Gyasi Zardes and the 'Quakes won't have Chris Wondolowski, the rivalry between both sides is enough reason to watch the game. Of course, it doesn't hurt that both teams are separated by only one point in the Western Conference standings. How could you not watch this game?!
