Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have joined the race for Paris Saint Germain star Edinson Cavani, according to a report in the Express, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea also rumoured to be interested in bringing him to the Premier League.

The Uruguayan striker has been linked with a move away from the French side for the past few seasons and now Liverpool are the latest team to be linked with his signature.

There is not only interest from the Premier League with Juventus and Atletico Madrid also interested in signing him during the summer window.

Jurgen Klopp is rumoured to be interested in bringing a new striker to Anfield and has already been linked with a huge money move for Gonzalo Higuain of Napoli.

Due to the injury worries of Daniel Sturridge in each of his seasons at the club and the under-performing Christian Benteke, a striker looks to be a must if Liverpool are to break into the top four next season.

Edinson Cavani is reportedly interested in making the move to the Premier League having become disenfranchised with Ligue 1 football, while his family are also keen on moving to England.

However, whether or not Cavani would be willing to give up Champions League football and almost a guaranteed league title for a Liverpool side not in Europe and unlikely to threaten at the very top of the league remains to be seen.

Having all but secured the signature of team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Manchester United are presumed unlikely to make a move for 29-year-old Cavani.

Instead Liverpool will be hoping his Uruguayan team-mate Luis Suarez can put in a good word about playing in front of the Kop.
