Barcelona defender Marc Bartra appears destined to leave Camp Nou this summer after spending well over half of his life with the Catalan giants, and Liverpool is an option that is reportedly of appeal to the 25-year-old.
Catalan publication L'Esportiu notes that the idea of moving to Anfield is one that 'pleases' Bartra.
He is thought to have a release clause of just €8m, very low by today's standards, but the Reds could face stiff competition from both Villarreal and Fiorentina.
Tottenham have also been linked with the player at various times over the last few weeks and months. Even Manchester United have been rumoured to be interested, although it's debatable whether he fits the profile of defender that Jose Mourinho usually goes for.
It's set to be all change at the back for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp next season. Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure are both tipped to leave. Mamadou Sakho's name has also featured in gossip columns, yet it remains to be seen how his lack of suspension will affect things.
The Reds have already tied up a deal to sign Joel Matip from Schalke as a free agent, while fans will hope that new £4.7m goalkeeper Loris Karius provides a sturdier last line of defence than current number one Simon Mignolet.
Even at left-back there could be significant change. Jose Enrique has already gone after barely featuring last season, and Alberto Moreno's long-term place could yet be under threat after a poor campaign and a dreadful and costly display in the Europa League final against Sevilla.
