With just six Premier League games remaining, it is time to look back and pick our provisional shortlist for West Ham's player of the season, provided, of course, that Andy Carroll doesn't score six more hat-tricks.
5. Cheikhou Kouyate
Cheikhou Kouyate quietly gets his job done in the centre of West Ham's midfield and he is fast becoming one of the division's top box-to-box midfielders.
Similar to the likes of Patrick Vieira and Yaya Toure, Kouyate is strong in the tackle, but capable of bursting forward and even scoring the odd goal.
He might have been sent off twice, but both were rescinded, so disciplinary-wise he is a reliable holding midfielder.
The limelight might be on Dimitri Payet, but it is just as crucial that the Hammers hold onto their Senegalese midfield man this summer.
4. Manuel Lanzini
Signed initially on a loan deal but then confirmed as a permanent Hammer just last month, Manuel Lanzini has been excellent in his first season in the Premier League.
It seems as if he learns a lot from his teammates in midfield - Payet and Noble - and he has scored seven goals to help his side in their pursuit for European football.
Lanzini has only just turned 23, so he could have a long and successful career in claret and blue.
3. Michail Antonio
One of the surprises of the season, Michail Antonio was brought in from Nottingham Forest and initially struggled to get any game time whatsoever, except for a 30 minute cameo against Manchester City.
It was only due to other injuries that he got the nod from Slaven Bilic and he has stayed in that starting eleven ever since.
Capable of slotting in at right-back as well as in a more advanced role, Antonio has scored six and assisted three in the league.
2. Mark Noble
This season has been Mark Noble's best in claret and blue, and there have been plenty to choose from.
He has taken the captain's armband and been a real leader in the heart of the midfield, forcing many fans across the country to query why he is not selected for the England national side.
Noble's season and Hammers career, which is far from over, was celebrated with a fantastic testimonial in March, and some national team football in the summer is no less than he deserves.
1. Dimitri Payet
Not only does Dimitri Payet walk this list of top West Ham players, but he may well pick up the national league award following a phenomenal first season in the Premier League.
Payet has managed nine goals and eight assists in the league alone, and has dazzled defenders with his magical touches and flamboyant skills.
His five world-class free-kicks and a France call-up are the icing on the cake of a wonderful first season at West Ham, and he will surely be at the centre of any success both sides earn in the coming years.
