Leicester City are set to offer midfield maestro N'Golo Kante an improved contract to ward off interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, Mirror Sport report.

Kante only swapped French club Caen for the Foxes back in August but the 24-year-old has had such a massive impact at the King Power Stadium that the club are keen to extend his deal, which currently runs until 2019.

The Frenchman has adapted to life in the Premier League with relative ease and his impressive performances in the middle of the park are epitomised by crunching tackles and incisive passes that slice apart opposition defences.

Kante has been instrumental in Leicester's unlikely charge towards the Premier League title, chipping in with three assists and a goal which has seen his value rocket up to £20m.

However, his match-winning displays haven't gone unnoticed by the division's big boys and now Arsene Wenger is reportedly lining up a shock swoop for the defensive midfielder to provide competition and cover for Francis Coquelin.

The French national team boss Didier Deschamps recently let slip that Kante is a part of his plans for the European Championships this summer and if the diminutive star performs well, demand for his services will only increase.
