A high percentage of Liverpool supporters - and lets be honest, most fans of Premier League football - were at the very least puzzled to discover that Liverpool had offered Simon Mignolet a new five-year contract recently.

The Belgian duly signed the deal and has recently promised he'd strive to improve his aggression. But the jury is still out. And if he's ever to convince people of his quality, Mignolet will need to cut out the errors he continues to make in goal for the Reds.

His latest blunder came in the weekend draw with Sunderland, as he allowed Adam Johnson's tame free-kick to slip through his hands and into the back of the net, before Jermain Defoe struck late on in order to salvage a point.

It turned out that Mignolet's error was another costly one, but The Anfield Chat went on to tot up just how many points Mignolet's errors have cost Liverpool this season.

They tweeted that Mignolet has lost Liverpool a huge 15 league points this term, and if each of his errors had been removed then the club would currently be sitting in second place in the Premier League table.

WhoScored also published a damning statistic of their own from an individual standpoint, and these nuggets of information are sure to make for tough reading for Liverpool fans.
