Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is hoping to bring back his two best players from injury in Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil for the Premier League visit of Chelsea.

Germany international and World Cup winner Ozil has set the Premier League alight this season with the 27-year-old claiming an incredible 16 assists in the league this campaign, but currently has a foot injury.

As for Sanchez, the Chile international and former Barcelona man has been recuperating from a hamstring injury suffered just before Christmas, and nine goals in 20 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners this season.

Speaking after the 0-0 draw with Stoke City as reported by All Arsenal, Wenger said that he hopes that both players will be available for the visit of champions Chelsea, and claimed that next week will be a decisive week as to whether the pair are included or not.

Hull City v Arsenal - Premier League

“I hope Özil and Sanchez [will be back for Chelsea],” Wenger said.

“I believe that next week we will have some players back and slowly some other players are one or two weeks away so in a few months we should have a big part of our injured players back.

“There is no team in the world that does not miss Mesut Özil and that is of course used to having him there and giving the final ball but I must say that without Mesut it wouldn’t have been a very different game.”

Arsenal v A.F.C. Bournemouth - Premier League

The 0-0 draw with Stoke saw the Gunners return back to the top of the Premier League on goal difference ahead of Leicester City, but Manchester City have closed the gap on top to just one point.

It makes for a highly entertaining and tight top three in English football, with just that one point separating the three sides, as Arsenal go in search of their first league title since 2004.
