Southampton eased to a 3-0 victory over West Brom at St Mary's, with James Ward-Prowse bagging a brace, including a free kick curler and a penalty, before Dusan Tadic wrapped up the win with a goal from an angle.
Here are how the players rated:
Southampton Goalkeeper and Defence
Fraser Forster - 6
Solid and authoritative now he's back from injury, not so much as a save to make for the former Celtic man.
Cedric Soares - 6
Caused the West Brom defence a few problems by whipping in a host of dangerous crosses.
Jose Fonte - 7
Rarely has a bad game for Southampton and today was a good day. Nothing was getting past him.
Virgil Van Dijk - 7
Slowly finding his feet at St Mary's but looks to have formed a solid partnership with Fonte.
Ryan Bertrand - 7
This was more the Bertrand that played so well last season, bombing forward with pace and keeping Sessgnon and McClean at bay.
Victor Wanyama - 7
Looked in total control of the midfield today, just sitting comfortably in front of the defence, cutting out the danger and pinging balls forward again.
James Ward-Prowse - 9
Man of the match. The award should go to him for the wonder free kick alone. Showed great composure to cooly slot the penalty and was very consistent all game.
Sadio Mane - 6
Was played in on goal a few times, but his decision making wasn't great, same can be said for his crossing.
Steven Davis - 7
The unsung hero of the Southampton side. Instrumental in the third goal and virtually everything went through this man today.
Matthew Targett - 8
Looks to be the next big thing to come out of the Saints academy. Threatened all the time with his runs into the box and his well timed crossing.
Shane Long - 6
Was snatching at chances today and didn't grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Tested Myhill with a few efforts on target.
Dusan Tadic - 7
Scored once again from off the bench, showing more determination, deserves to start next time.
Oriol Romeu - 6
Kept up Saints's pressure with good possession, displayed a good passing range.
Cuco Martina - N/A
West Brom Goalkeeper and Defence
Boaz Myhill - 6
Didn't do an awful lot wrong, but also didn't have a lot of presence about him to rush out or make himself big to stop shots.
Craig Dawson - 5
Gave away the penalty and had a very below-par day on the right flank. Lacks the pace needed.
Gareth McAuley - 6
Did well enough in the air, but looked nervous at times when Saints pushed forward.
Jonas Olsson - 5
He was out of position on a few occasions and, like many of his teammates, lacked desire and aggression.
Johnny Evans - 5
Out of his depth at left back. Potentially still carrying an injury, but playing out of position wont help either.
West Brom Midfield
Craig Gardner - 5
Had a few half chances but managed to blaze all of them high and wide.
Darren Fletcher - 6
One of the only bright sparks in the middle of the park, but despite his effort, couldn't inspire the rest of his off-form teammates.
Claudio Yacob - 5
Quiet day for the Argentine who is normally so active. Was bypassed in midfield and allowed Southampton through too many times.
James McClean - 6
He completed a few dribbles down the wing, but couldn't make it happen today.
West Brom Attack
Stephan Sessegnon - 4
Terrible showing from the former Sunderland man, who probably wouldn't score had the game gone on for another 90 minutes.
Victor Anichebe - 5
Drafting him into the side looked a smart move as a fresh idea, but all of his efforts were off target.
Chris Brunt - 6
Improved the Baggies after the break with some decent crosses, but no one got on the end of them.
Salomon Rondon - 6
Wasn't much of an upgrade on Anichebe as West Brom failed to hit the target.
Sadio Berahino - 5
The Spurs target was virtually invisible. Mentally he is clearly elsewhere.
