Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of former Gillingham and Norwich striker Simeon Jackson on a short-term deal until the end of the 2015/16 season. The 28-year-old, who had been on trial at Ewood Park, will wear the number 35 shirt.
"It feels great to be here," Jackson told the club's in-house media channel after agreeing his terms.
"It has been a good two weeks coming in and getting a feel for the club, so I'm delighted to finally put pen-to-paper now," he added.
"Everyone has been very welcoming, it is a warm club and I'm just delighted to be here and be able to play a part of what the gaffer is doing here.
"I'm very hungry to do well. I've had a few ups and downs in the last few years, so I'm definitely looking forward to this opportunity.
"It is a great club, a great set of lads and a great manager. I think the timing has worked out well, so I'm really looking forward to it."
Jackson brings plenty of experience to Blackburn's squad having played in all three tiers of the Football League, as well as the Premier League.
He was at his most prolific for Gillingham in League One and League Two, but arguably his best season came when his 13 Championship goals helped fire Norwich back into the top flight in the 2010/11 campaign.
Since leaving the Canaries in 2013, Jackson has also played for Eintracht Braunschweig in the Bundesliga, Millwall and Coventry. He began the 2015/16 season with Barnsley before sealing move to Blackburn.
