As expected, Lionel Messi won his fifth Ballon d'Or title at the 2015 ceremony in Zurich on Monday night. The Barcelona talisman has now officially been the best player in the world an incredible five times. What more can you say about the great man?

Here's how Twitter reacted to the news...

If anything, the Argentine superstar deserved this one more than any of his previous four gongs. That was certainly reflected in the voting, taking almost half over Ronaldo and Neymar.

Barcelona released this rather wonderful video soon after the announcement was made...

He's setting new standards every year...

Ronaldo was a 'gracious' loser..sort of...

Hang on a minute, Steve...

Neymar seemed a little more magnanimous in defeat...

It didn't change the Brazilians's plans much anyway...

USWNT striker Alex Morgan, who actually spent time in Barcelona during her college career, was pleased for Messi..

Luis Figo called the achievement, "amazing".

His president was very "proud".

Former Barcelona and Liverpool forward Luis Garcia gave his best...

Gary Lineker, a former Barcelona hero himself, albeit on a different scale entirely, offered the highest praise possible.

Arda Turan, Barcelona's newest star was happy, too

As a former winner back in 2006, Fabio Cannavaro was also impressed.
