Mesut Ozil has made an Arsenal fan's special day even more special, after the fan paid tribute to the Gunners midfielder in his wedding toast, which was captured on film and uploaded to YouTube.

The video has now been viewed tens of thousands of times online (almost one for each assist that the Germany international has provided his teammates with this season), and apparently caught the Arsenal number 11's attention after Saturday's win over Sunderland.

He replied to the fan's tweet on the weekend, saying: "Well said! I'll congratulate you both personally after your honeymoon and I'll also invite you to an #AFC game".

Ozil has been in spectacular form this season, putting up 16 assists in the 20 league games the Gunners have played this season, leaving him just four away from Thierry Henry's season-long Premier League era record of 20 assists in a single campaign.

Arsene Wenger praised the midfielder in his Monday morning press conference this week, and when asked if he thought the German could be up for the Ballon d'Or in 12 months, he said: “I wish. But what is important, we are in a team sport. It is not logical just for individual effort to be praised. It is a bit contradictory to what is the route of our sport.”
