According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, The agent of Mario Balotelli is attempting to orchestrate a deal with Jurgen Klopp that would see his client return to Liverpool from his loan at AC Milan.
Balotelli was deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield by ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers in the summer, and was subsequently shipped out to Italy.
A groin injury has largely disrupted any chance of Balotelli's hope of rejuvenating himself back at AC Milan in his second spell. He had previously netted 26 goals in two seasons at the San Siro.
His return back to the Milan team could yet be extended, with the former Man City striker coming down with flu symptoms over the Christmas period and, combined with a severe lack of match fitness, puts him off the pace of being at the level required to start games.
However, his famous agent Mino Raiola is attempting to engineer a move back to England and seize on an opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp amidst his striking crisis.
Having lost Sturridge and Ings to injuries this season, Klopp's remaining forward options Christian Benteke, Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino have failed to impress and have struggled for consistency, and Raiola sees Balotelli as the man who could solve Liverpool's problems.
The deal to bring him back won't be straightforward, and it will likely take lengthy discussions with the German boss before a decision is made on the controversial Italian.
