The Top 7 Premier League Goals of 2015

With the new year well and truly here, it's only right to have a look back at some of the best goals 2015 has to offer us.

Chelsea won the league and then slumped to the bottom barrel of the table towards the end, whilst the Premier League waved goodbye to QPR, Burnley and Hull City, welcoming Bournemouth, Norwich and Watford in their place.

Where there's news, there's goals, so here's the 7 best goals this calendar year:

7. Bobby Zamora Vs West Brom

Despite wonder-goals like this Bobby Zamora chip against West Brom, Queens Park Rangers couldn't avoid the drop last season as they ended up the year in the Championship.

That said, the journeyman's deft chip across the face of goal was easily one of the best seen this year.

6. Jack Wilshere Vs West Brom

Another goal against West Brom, this time Jack Wilshere with his Match of the Day Goal of the Season strike on the last day of the season.

This beautifully struck volley nestled into the top corner - no 'keeper in the world would have saved it'.

5. Jermain Defoe Vs Newcastle

The only way to mark your debut - scoring a worldie of a volley against your new club's arch rivals to earn all three points and bragging rights.

Jermain Defoe's volley was one of the strikes of last season and left the Geordies licking their wounds as they lost their fifth consecutive Tyne-Wear derby.

4. Philippe Coutinho Vs Southampton

Philippe Coutinho came into his own in 2015, scoring a vast number of world-class goals for Liverpool.

This particular one against Southampton last term was arguably the pick of the bunch, smashing home the almost stationary ball into the roof of the net from 30-yards. What a hit son, what a hit...

3. Matt Ritchie Vs Sunderland

The Bournemouth mans goal this term is in with a shout for goal of the season come May, with the Scotsman's volley an impeccable effort.

The 26-year-old controlled the ball superbly on his chest before unleashing a volley that two goalkeepers would have struggled to stop. Absolute beauty...

2. Charlie Adam Vs Chelsea

You remember the goal, the one where Charlie Adam lobbed one of the best 'keepers in the world from inside in his own half?

Yeah, it's pretty hard to forget and one of the best goals the Premier League has ever seen. The audacity, skill and accuracy to pull this off was simply out of this world. Tekka bow son, tekka bow...

1. Christian Benteke Vs Manchester United

This. Just this. Benteke's goal against Man United has to be one of the best technically brilliant bits of skill England's top-flight witnessed all year.

Despite the fact Liverpool succumbed to defeat in this match, the Belgian's overhead kick was unbelievable and made David De Gea look like the fat kid you stick in goal at school. The Reds will be hoping Bentekkers can score one or two more like this in 2016...
