Memphis Depay's lifestyle has earned the Manchester United winger a talking to from assistant manager Ryan Giggs, according to The Mirror.
The 21-year-old was hauled off at half-time during United's 3-0 trouncing at the hands of Arsenal last weekend and was later spotted out on the town.
It is understood that his party antics have worried some of United's senior players and prompted a dressing-down from Giggs, who himself was urged to swerve the nightlife by Sir Alex Ferguson as a youngster.
United paid £25m for Memphis in the summer, but the former PSV Eindhoven star has shown only glimpses of his ability so far and is believed to have been instructed to adopt a lower profile until he gets to grips with the English game.
An insider said: “Memphis is photographed out and about more than other players and that’s not gone unnoticed.
“He’s been told to keep his head down a bit while his football catches up with the rest of his profile."
Memphis, however, attributed his slow start to the high demands of Premier League football.
"There are a lot of games in Manchester. There are very few rest days and on training days you are mainly concerned with recovering," he told De Telegraaf.
"It's heavy, two games a week, always at a high level, and my body has to get used to that."
He added: "I try to manage my career in steps, and I am still in the middle. I think this was the right step (to join United) and I am happy in Manchester. I'm still developing."
