Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of Montenegrin international defender Stefan Savic from Fiorentina. Once a Premier League champion with Manchester City, the 24-year-old's transfer is believed to be worth around €12m.
Having undergone routine medical tests earlier in the day, Savic signed a five-year contract before joining his new team-mates at their Los Angeles de San Rafael training camp. Mario Suarez has left for Florence in the opposite direction.
After arriving at Madrid's Barajas Airport on Monday morning, Savic had told reporters that he is "very happy to join a great club".
At the time, he then went on to say, "(Diego) Simeone is the best coach in football. I hope to talk with him soon to see what he expects of me."

Speaking about the deal after it was officially complete, Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero told the club's official website, "We are very satisfied with the agreement reached with Fiorentina."
He added, "Stefan is a player with a huge potential and a great future ahead of him. He is fast and strong in defence and has experience despite his youth as a result of playing in leagues in Serbia, England and Italy. I am convinced that he will bring a lot to us."
