The 2024 Leagues Cup group stage has been announced in full, with Inter Miami and Lionel Messi hoping to win back-to-back titles under head coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino.

The Barcelona legend stole the show in last year's continental competition, notching 10 goals and one assist to propel the Herons to their first-ever trophy over Nashville SC in the final in penalties. Miami's incredible run to the final featured Messi scoring a fantastic free-kick on his debut in stoppage time, and the Herons will need more of that same magic to repeat as winners.

Miami's group is anything but straightforward, as they're set to face off with Liga MX giants Tigres as well as Club Puebla in their respective group. Another notable matchup is LAFC facing off with Vancouver Whitecaps in West 7, while West 2 presents an interesting group with LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes and Chivas set to do battle.

US men's national team figure Cade Cowell recently departed San Jose to join Chivas, pitting him against his former club come this summer while five-time MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy surely can't do worse than they managed in 2023.

In the East, Mexican side Cruz Azul and Philadelphia Union will more than likely battle it out for first place in East 4 with Charlotte FC hoping to not be on the outside looking in when the group stage is all said and done.
