Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino i growing in stature after a third win in under a week put his side in great stead as we enter the busy Christmas period.

Following impressive wins against Swansea City away and Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup quarter final, Tottenham Hotpsur finally put to bed their poor home form in the league, with a 2-1 win over Burnley yesterday.

Goalscoring machine Harry Kane broke the deadlock for the home side and Pochettino is confident that the youngster will soon be in Roy Hodgson's plans.

"I wish for my player the best but Harry has big potential and he's a big talent. Why not? If he continues to play in the same way, maybe the opportunity will come for him to play for the national team."

"It's becoming normal now that Harry Kane has scored. We are very happy with him. He worked very hard and scored a goal, which is very important for the striker."

The Argentine manager also heaped praise on match-winner Erik Lamela, whose wonderstrike at the end of the first half proved to be the winner. ""He is very happy because it is his first [league] goal and we are very happy too because it helped the team get the three points."

"It is important for him. We need to understand Erik is still young, he has a big talent but it was difficult his first season in England. This season he is fit - in the beginning it wasn't easy for him to play but he just needed time."

"Today was great for him because he needs to build his confidence, to be more strong and when we saw his performance today he is happy because it is another step in the right direction."
