Man Utd pre-season 2024/25: Fixtures and schedule

While they rightfully enjoyed their FA Cup triumph back in May, Manchester United still endured a largely torrid campaign.

The Red Devils finished eighth in the Premier League - their lowest ever finish - and were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage. Despite speculation over his future at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag has held on to his job.

In fact, the Dutchman has actually been handed a contract extension and will be desperate to redeem himself next term. With a few new additions and a good pre-season, Man Utd supporters will feel they can start the rebuilding process in 2024/25.

Where are Man Utd going for 2024/25 pre-season?

Man Utd have announced their pre-season plans, which kicked off with a trip to Norway to face Rosenborg on 15 July. With the Copa America and Euro 2024 final taking place the day prior, some of the club's stars were unavailable for the trip.

The Red Devils then enjoyed a trip to Scotland before departing to the United States for three matches. Real Betis are one of their opponents in North America, with battles against familiar Premier League foes also set up.

Of course, Man Utd will now also be involved in the Community Shield following their success in the FA Cup.

Man Utd's 2024/25 pre-season confirmed schedule

A mixed Man Utd team got their pre-season off to a disappointing start when they faced Rosenborg in Norway. While the likes of Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount all featured, they couldn't break down their opponents and eventually fell to a late defeat.

Man Utd did bounce back a few days later in Edinburgh as Rangers were beaten 2-0 thanks to strikes from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill. New signing Leny Yoro also impressed on his first outing for the club.

It's off to the United States for the Red Devils after their battle with the Glasgow club and they start their American tour with a clash against old foes Arsenal on 28 July in California. The two clubs faced off in 2023/24 pre-season, a game Ten Hag's side won 2-0.

Spanish side Real Betis are next up for the Red Devils, another clash taking place in California just four days after the meeting with Arsenal. United will finish up their time in the United States by facing rivals Liverpool in another friendly, with the game taking place in Columbia, South Carolina.

Just a week after their meeting with Liverpool across the pond, Man Utd will face local rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield, which is technically a pre-season friendly. Having beaten them in last season's FA Cup final, they will be looking to get one over on Pep Guardiola's side early doors.

Man Utd 2024/25 pre-season tour squad

Ten Hag is taking a group of 29 across the Atlantic for their three fixtures in the States. Among those included is summer arrival Yoro.

Altay Bayindir, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Facundo Pellistri and Luke Shaw are all absent due to their recent international commitments.

Marcus Rashford has shaken off his minor knock to travel, while Harry Maguire will also be involved having missed Euro 2024 through injury.

How to watch Man Utd 2024/25 pre-season

All of Man Utd's pre-season matches this summer will be available on MUTV, although supporters will need a paid subscription to access content.

A subscription to MUTV will cost fans £7.99 per month or £29.99 for the year.

The 2024 Community Shield should be available on free-to-air TV in the UK.
