Manchester United have received an injury boost ahead of their FA Cup final clash with Manchester City, as midfielder Mason Mount returns to training.

It's been a difficult debut season for Mount at Old Trafford, with the former Chelsea man having made just eight starts across all competitions due to regular injuries.

Recovering from a calf injury in March, Mount scored his first goal against Brentford and started his first game of the year against Crystal Palace. Soon after, he picked up yet another injury, missing the tail end of the campaign.

It looks like the England international may be able to paper over the cracks of his season, however, as he has now been spotted in training ahead of the squad's trip to Wembley.

The Red Devils will face Pep Guardiola's silverware winning side on Saturday as they look to clinch their only trophy of the season. United will enter the derby as underdogs, but may stand a better chance as players return to the squad.

Elsewhere on the pitch, question marks still loom over multiple injured players.

Luke Shaw will hope to make a return, but faces a setback in recovering from a muscle injury. Harry Maguire will also be of use to the Red Devils, with Erik Ten Hag previously confirming that he is 'planning' to include the defender.

Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial have also been spotted training at Carrington, and therefore could feature on Saturday.

Ten Hag is expected to provide an injury update on Thursday afternoon when he sits down for his final press conference of the season.
