Key Summary:

1. Wilfried Zaha scored a brilliant goal against Norwich during Crystal Palace's Premier League clash on Wednesday night.

2. He then went on to take one of the worse penalties ever, failing to help his side to three points.

3. Fans were left stunned at Zaha's miss as they took to social media to poke fun at the Palace star.

Wilfried Zaha scored a stunning goal for Crystal Palace to equalise against Norwich on Wednesday night. Teemu Pukki put his side ahead after just 40 seconds, and it took Palace until the hour mark to draw level.

But the wait for the goal was worth it, with Zaha scoring an absolute screamer past Norwich goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

And just minutes later, the Ivory Coast international had the opportunity to give his side the lead after Tyrick Mitchell was fouled inside the area.

But Zaha scuffed his shot wide of the post, much to the disbelief of fans watching in the stadium and on TV.

Fans on social media dubbed the penalty as "the worst ever".

One person wrote: "That Zaha penalty is genuinely one of the worst I’ve ever seen".

Another person said: "Zaha scored a cracker then seconds later took the worst penalty ever seen".

A third Twitter user added: "Worst penalty miss since Diana Ross in World Cup 94".

The match finished 1-1, and the former Manchester United man tried to explain his shocking penalty miss after the game.

"I felt my left leg go and thought 'I've messed this up'," he told BBC Sport. "I was shocked. That's football. I was buzzing about the goal then I missed that.

“I don't have time to feel sorry for myself. That's the first pen I've missed. I'm confident to go again and take it [the next one]."
