Cristiano Ronaldo managed to avoid one of the most embarrassing misses of his career as Alvaro Morata turned up to save the Portuguese during Juventus' Serie A clash against Genoa.

Ronaldo had an open goal to tap the ball into from a re-bound off Chiesa's effort but the Portuguese somehow missed and hit the post, when it looked more easier to score rather than miss.

However, Ronaldo was saved as the ball headed back into Morata's path, who slotted home from by the penalty spot.

Dejan Kulusevski had given Juventus the lead in the game after just four minutes, before Morata's goal doubled the lead on 22 minutes.

Scamacca pulled one back for the visitors before Juventus restored their two-goal lead and ensured all three points for Andrea Pirlo's side.

The win still left Juventus12 points off table toppers Inter, who won earlier on Sunday, and they're certain to miss out on a 10th league title in-a-row.

Meanwhile, it was the second time in one week that Ronaldo missed a sitter of a goal after missing from a few yards out from a straight-forward headed attempt against SSC Napoli, with many fans considering that miss to be the 'miss of the season' contender.
