Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Lionel Messi has revealed that he had "other offers" from "various clubs" after leaving Barcelona in the summer, claiming that, "I had other offers".

PSG arguably completed the biggest signing in football history when they managed to sign the record six-time Ballon d'Or award winner on a two-year deal with the option of extending it with another year.

"Barcelona published a statement saying that I wasn't going to carry on, and from then I was asking myself where I was going to end up. I had other offers, but I have to say that we came to an agreement quickly with PSG. It wasn't straightforward because everything had to be sorted out in a short amount of time, practically from one day to the next. ... I was convinced by the project, the club's ambitions, the players they have, the squad. ... All of these factors," Messi told L'Equipe.

Messi who moved to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer earlier in the summer from Barcelona, has not had the best of starts to life in Paris, managing only a solitary goal in his five appearances so far.

The 34-year-old however did score his debut goal with a screamer against Manchester City to lead the club to a 2-0 win in the Champions League. It will be interesting to see whether the superstar can pick up his form and lead PSG to their maiden Champions League honour come the end of the season.
