Conor McGregor has claimed he will "smoke" Neymar after the Paris Saint-Germain star posed with McGregor's UFC rival - Charles Oliveira.
The Irishman is looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats against Dustin Poirier is eyeing up a showdown with Oliveira and stirred the pot on social media when Neymar shared a picture with his fellow Brazilian.
Neymar met Oliveira at an event last week and a post on social media showed the pair smiling as they held his belt - a picture that clearly infuriated McGregor who decided to have a pop at the pair.
Uploading a screenshot of the photo, he wrote over it 'smoke these two', with a handful of rocket, gun, and money emojis.
This isn't the first time McGregor's taken a dig at fellow rivals on social media. Last March, he called out boxing world champion Canelo Alvarez for a bout.
McGregor hasn't fought since breaking his leg in a defeat to Poirier at UFC 264 last July, but has been linked with several matchups, including one against current lightweight champion, Oliviera.
UFC president Dana White did not rule out a potential lightweight title fight for McGregor. Speaking to ESPN, he stated: “I don’t know the answer [to a possible fight] until it gets closer.”
However, Justin Gaethje, current number one in the rankings doesn't believe McGregor should be the next challenger for the lightweight title.
In December, he proclaimed to TMZ: “He [McGregor] has not won a fight since 2016 in the lightweight division. I’m ranked number one. I saw they updated the rankings. I’m number one now. That feels pretty good.
“My whole life, I’ve been working towards this. That is what’s next. If not, I’ll f***ing burn it all down. I’ll show up and start throwing dollies everywhere.”
