Goals from Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani in the second half helped Manchester United seal a 3-1 win over Aston Villa, and delay Manchester City's Premier League title win.

It was Villa who scored first in the match as Bertrand Traore slammed the ball past Dean Henderson into the top corner on 24 minutes. It was a beautiful strike, taken from a tight angle inside the box.

The scoreline remained the same at half time, but United were level seven minutes into the second half. Douglas Luiz fouled Paul Pogba inside the box, and Bruno Fernandes stepped up and converted the resultant penalty to restore parity.

Four minutes later, Man United took the lead through Greenwood. Wan-Bissaka found Greenwood inside the box, who turned Tyrone Mings and struck a low shot into the bottom corner.

Cavani, who replaced Greenwood in the 64th minute, then sealed United's victory in the 87th minute with a brilliant header. When Fred found Rashford on the right, Cavani sensed opportunity, made excellent movement off the ball, and steered the England international's cross into the box past Emi Martinez with his head.

Villa's hopes, if any, of a late comeback was crushed two minutes later, when Ollie Watkins was shown a second yellow card for simulation, reducing them to 10 men.

Meanwhile, with this victory, United also delayed Man City's title win. Had Villa won the game, City would have been crowned the Premier League champions this afternoon.
