With that, here are the top transfer rumours of the day.

PSG win Messi race

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly leading the race to sign Lionel Messi, according to Get French Football News.

The Argentine is officially set to leave Barcelona due to "economic and structural obstacles", and the Ligue 1 giants, who have been long-linked with a move for the 33-year-old are set to offer him a contract before the new season starts.

Manchester City have backed out of a move for Messi after signing Grealish.

Maddison to stay at Leicester

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Leicester City have received no bids for James Maddison yet despite strong interest from Arsenal.

Rodgers has insisted that the 24-year-old will stay at Leicester for the 2021-22 season. He said: "I know he is very happy here and he wants to be here. If anything comes to the club, Jon Rudkin (director of football) would tell me straightaway and I would deal with it then, but there has been nothing that’s come my way."

Inter expect £110m Lukaku bid

Inter are reportedly expecting Chelsea to return with an improved bid of £110m for Romelu Lukaku, according to the Daily Mail.

Earlier this week, DiMarzio revealed that the Blues offered around £88million plus Marcos Alonso for the Belgian, but the offer was turned down by the Serie A champions, who have insisted they need Lukaku to remain at the club.

Solskjaer provides transfer update

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken about Manchester United's transfer business this summer and admitted that any more incomings would be a "bonus".

Solskjaer admitted further incomings would be dependent on summer sales. "Anything from now is a bonus," the United boss said. “I have to say that with the two signings we’ve got, we’ve strengthened where we wanted to strengthen. Let’s see what happens. You never know in football. Anything can happen, ins and outs.”
