Transfer Rumours 21/08: Liverpool Begin Salah Contract Talks, Ronaldo Backed to Stay at Juventus
By Amreen

The summer transfer window is heating up as managers eye new recruits to strengthen their squads. Harry Kane is still intent on leaving Tottenham, with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea all interested.
Real Madrid have filled their vacant managerial spot by bringing back Carlo Ancelotti, who spent the last season with Everton.
Liverpool have already made their move in the market by signing RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate, and will be looking to bring in a few more reinforcements too. United have gone ahead and brought in Sancho and Varane while many other top clubs are being linked with big names.
With that, here are the top transfer rumours of the day.
Liverpool begin Salah contract talks
Jurgen Klopp has admitted Liverpool have opened talks with Mohamed Salah over a new contract as they look to tie down the Egyptian to a long-term deal.
When asked if he was involved in Salah's contract talks, Klopp said: "Yes, I am involved in pretty much everything in the club. Maybe some talks happen without me, that's possible, but apart from that I know about all the things and it's how it always is, we don't really speak about these kinds of things."
City interested in Moriba
Manchester City are reportedly keen on Ilaix Moriba, but only if they could land the Barcelona starlet on a free transfer, per Mundo Deportivo.
The 18-year-old looks set for a Camp Nou exit, with RB Leipzig considered to be his destination. He is in the final year of his contract and has, so far, refused to sign a new deal with the LaLiga giants.
Ronaldo backed to stay at Juventus
Bruno Alves believes Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Juventus for "one last assault on the Champions League" and rubbished rumours linking his Portugal teammate with an exit from the Old Lady.
Alves told Tuttosport on Ronaldo's future: "I haven’t talked about these things with him. My feeling is that in the end he will stay at Juve because he still has something to do: how to win the Scudetto back and try one last assault on the Champions League. Cristiano always wants to prove himself, he is a born winner."
Solskjaer targets two new faces
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly targeting two more signings for Manchester United before the ongoing summer transfer window shuts.
According to The Telegraph, the 48-year-old wants to sign a new striker and a midfielder before the 31st August deadline. The Red Devils have already brought in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Tom Heaten, but Solskjaer wants to continue building his squad.
