Arsenal made bid for Locatelli, claims Fagioli's agent

Arsenal have made a bid for Manuel Locatelli, agent of Juventus youngster Nicolo Fagioli has confirmed.

Juventus are also keen on Locatelli, and Fagioli was rumoured to be on the table as the Old Lady reportedly eyed a player-plus-cash deal for Locatelli.

However, Fagioli's agent Andrea D'Amico has denied claims his client has been proposed to Sassuolo as part of a deal for Locatelli, and confirmed Arsenal have made an approach for the Italian midfielder.

"Juventus would like to sign Locatelli and Arsenal have already offered €40m (£34m)," he said via Evening Standard.

"But I can assure you that, as of today, Fagioli has not been included in the deal.

"Massimiliano Allegri wants to see him in training to understand if he can be useful during the season."

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has admitted midfielder Saul Niguez could leave the club this summer amid exit links.

"Last season he (Saul) spoke with the club, with us about his needs and what he spoke about was the option of having a position on the pitch where he feels more important," Simeone told AS, as quoted by Goal.

"And I consider that Saul became Saul by playing everywhere, but he or many of those around him see it as something negative.

"He is very important for Atletico because he can play as a full-back, right-wing, midfielder. He gives us a lot of options to be able to count on him. He is a player who, in that version and playing how the coach needs him to, performs very well."

Simeone added: "We cannot put aside what is rumoured and talked about.

"If he has to leave, give him a big hug, wish him the best with the boys who gave us life and to continue being friends, as always. Either to Barcelona or elsewhere."

Sporting CP have rejected Manchester City's cash-plus-player bid for full-back Nuno Mendes, according to Record.

Mendes was impressive for Sporting last season, and the 19-year-old has attracted transfer interest from a number of top European clubs, including City.

Man City tabled a €25m cash-plus-player to Sporting, but the Portuguese outfit swiftly turned it down, with the club valuing Mendes at €50m.
