Liverpool have been handed a huge boost as defender Virgil van Dijk has reportedly began 'light recovery training' at the Reds' new Kirkby training base. The Dutchman was feared to be ruled out for the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in the Merseyside derby last month after Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford collided into him.

Erling Haaland's father Alf-Inge has refused to rule out a future move for the 20-year-old, but has insisted his son is happy at Borussia Dortmund and wants to win trophies with the Bundesliga giants. Haaland is one of the most coveted players in the world right now, with clubs all over Europe wanting to sign him, including Real Madrid and Manchester United.

As part of our build-up to the January window, we bring to you the top transfer stories of the day. Additionally, along with the stories, we will hand out ratings to all rumours to validate their authenticity. A rating of 1 means the transfer is least likely to happen and a 10 denotes that the deal will certainly take place.

Man United to battle for Camavinga

Manchester United are reportedly set to battle Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for 18-year-old Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to Marca.

Madrid and PSG are interested in the Frenchman who is currently valued at around €70million, but United could step up their interest, especially if Paul Pogba leaves the club. The report also states that Madrid has already had very advanced negotiations with the player's representatives, but Camavinga's price tag might prove to be a deterrent due to the coronavirus pandemic.
