The summer transfer window is heating up as managers eye new recruits to strengthen their squads. Harry Kane is still intent on leaving Tottenham, with the likes of Manchester CityManchester United, and Chelsea all interested.

Real Madrid have filled their vacant managerial spot by bringing back Carlo Ancelotti, who spent the last season with Everton.

Liverpool have already made their move in the market by signing RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate, and will be looking to bring in a few more reinforcements too. United have gone ahead and brought in Sancho and Varane while many other top clubs are being linked with big names.

With that, here are the top transfer rumours of the day.

United plot swoop for Mbappe

Manchester United have reportedly made Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe as their "top target" for 2022.

Mbappe is in the final 12 months of his contract at PSG and has, so far, refused to put pen to paper on a new deal. The Frenchman has been Real Madrid's top target throughout this summer window, but United are keeping a "watching brief" on the 22-year-old, according to ESPN.

Madrid to axe three players for Pogba

Real Madrid are reportedly to shake up their transfer strategy and place three players on the market in order to fund a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

According to Diario AS, Gareth Bale, Isco, and Marcelo are all on the chopping block at Madrid, with all three players’ respective contracts expiring next summer. The report adds that Madrid will only splash out a substantial transfer fee on star players like Kylian Mbappe or Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Coutinho given Barca hope

Philippe Coutinho has been offered hope that he may yet have a future at Barcelona.

Manager Ronald Koeman told reporters: "Philippe is out because I think he needs one more week to train with the group before being called up. I do count on him because he is a great player. He can be important for Barca. I really count on Coutinho for this season. We have lost goals with Messi and we have to look for them in other players. Philippe is one of them."

Goretzka agrees new Bayern contract

Leon Goretzka has reportedly agreed a new contract with Bayern Munich, according to Goal and SPOX.

The German international's current deal runs out in 2022, and he had been linked with a move to Premier League giants, Manchester United. However, the report claims that fresh terms have been agreed, and the highly-rated 26-year-old midfielder will not be going anywhere any time soon.
