The summer transfer window is approaching fast and while the dates for the window have not been announced yet, the Premier League is slated to finish on Sunday, May 23 which may imply that the transfer window is most likely to reopen on Monday, June 1.

Top clubs across Europe are still looking to boost their squad ahead of the new season, and clear out their wage bill as well. With that in mind, here's a look at the latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Tottenham want Nagelsmann to replace Mourinho

Tottenham reportedly want RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann to replace Jose Mourinho at the helm of the club.

According to the Daily Mail, club chairman Daniel Levy is keen on replacing the Portuguese with Nagelsmann, and could persuade the 33-year-old to move to the Premier League once the current season ends. The report adds that it could cost Spurs up to £10million to release Nagelsmann from his contract, and he could demand a significant rise on his current wages.

Perez rules out Ronaldo return

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has dismissed all talk about a potential return to the club for Cristiano Ronaldo.

He told El Chiringuito: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not come back to Real Madrid. It does not make sense, he has a contract with Juventus. I love him a lot, he has given us a lot." He also turned down speculation over a move for Kylian Mbappe, and added: "The fans always ask me to buy Mbappe.

"My answer? I say: don't worry... the truth is that he is a good player, yes. I've never talked to Mbappe. At least up to now... I don't know what's going to happen to his contract with PSG."

Chelsea join Man United in Varane hunt

Chelsea have reportedly joined Manchester United in the chase for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, according to AS.

Mauricio Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keeping a close eye on the World Cup winner's contract situation with the LaLiga giants.

Arsenal keen on Barcelona's Emerson

Arsenal are reportedly interesting in signing Barcelona loanee Emerson, according to Fichajes.

The report claims that the Gunners are eyeing a move for the 22-year-old as a potential long-term replacement for Hector Bellerin, who has been linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain. Emerson has impressed on loan at Real Betis this season, scoring once in 27 LaLiga games.
