The summer window may have shut, but the air is still thick with transfer rumours as clubs continue to monitor targets, already looking forward to the January window.

Some big names could be on the move in the coming few months, and we're here to keep you posted on the latest transfer rumours.

With that, here are the top transfer rumours of the day.

City set Sterling price tag

Manchester City have reportedly slapped an €80m price tag on Raheem Sterling, according to reports from Marca.

Sterling has been linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium after falling down the pecking order. Barcelona have been rumoured to have an interest in the England international, but could be put off by the hefty price tag.

Barca target Sociedad star

Barcelona have reportedly identified Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak as a transfer target, according to AS.

The report claims that the LaLiga giants consider the 22-year-old as an alternative to Erling Haaland, who is significantly beyond their transfer budget currently.

Rooney on Newcastle shortlist

Wayne Rooney has reportedly emerged as a shock candidate for the Newcastle United job as the team's new owners look to replace Steve Bruce.

The Magpies' new Saudi Arabian owners have drawn up a managerial shortlist following their £300m takeover earlier this month. According to SPORTbible, Derby County boss, Rooney, is one of their targets, and could be handed his first chance to manage a club in the Premier League.
